Kayode Adeniji is the Senior Partner at Lawracles LP. He is continuously engaged as lead counsel in ongoing major and high profile commercial and public policy disputes across the courts of Nigeria and has been a representative of a party in an international commercial arbitration in the telecommunication industry.
Kayode also has remarkable experience in advising on complex commercial transactions as well as dispute resolution and advising foreign investors on potential investment in Nigeria. Before joining Lawracles LP, Kayode was Head of Dispute Resolution Management at the Honeywell Group.
MAJOR RECENT CASES/TRANSACTIONS
Kayode undertook the first critical review of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) of 2020; which was signed into law by President Muhamadu Buhari on 17th August, 2020. His published legal review sparked a national discuss on the jurisprudence behind the practicality of an omnibus law to regulate businesses and NGOs, (especially religious organizations) in a volatile multi religious and multicultural state.
Kayode Adeniji was the lead counsel in the recent landmark case of Megawatts V. Gbagada Phase II Residents Association; where the court affirmed residents’ right to freedom of association as guaranteed by the constitution. The judgment also compels probity and accountability by leaders of residential associations in the country.
Kayode has advised and represented a party on various Multi -Million Dollar Airtel Shareholders’ disputes.
Kayode’s legal opinion and advice helped the Management of Radisson Blu in dealing with unionization of its staff for smooth running of business at the Hotel.
He had advised an investor on the acquisition and the ongoing dispute surrounding the privatization of the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria.
Kayode has successfully advised and represented a group of companies in enforcing its intellectual property rights against an American Company and subsequently supervised the drafting and reviews of Settlement Agreement between the parties.
He has advised and represented a party in an ongoing dispute surrounding the Federal Government concession of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
He has successfully represented an indigenous drilling company in N27 Billion transaction at the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He currently advises and represents a foremost consumer finance organisation in Nigeria.
He has advised and successfully recovered multi-million naira debts for Ecobank, NDIC, UBA, AMCON and other financial institutions in Nigeria.
Kayode has advised an FMCG company and delivered various lectures to the management and staff on how the company should handle and resolve legacy issues of its deceased staff.

David Lawani is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Benin. He is a research executive in the firm. Before Joining Lawracles, he worked as the Administrative Manager for Peritage Publishing.
He had also worked with major print media houses in Lagos and Benin. David has contributed immensely to the firm’s work in the areas of Due diligence and Corporate Fraud Investigation, Debt recovery and legal research in the area of Cyber law as it relates to the internet of things (IoT)
Folashade Ayodele is a law graduate from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Energetic and purpose-driven, Folashade has a keen eye for innovative developments.
Currently the Practice Manager of Lawracles Legal Practitioners, Folashade has ample experience from working with Deloiv Nigeria Limited; where she worked as an Administrative and Operations Officer.
In the course of her work, Folashade has built and maintained a strong and friendly relationship between clients and her organization. She also tracked and ensured customer satisfaction, and supervised business transactions.
In addition, she managed and filed official documents. She initiated, managed and closed payment in respect of transactions with clients.

Chiamaka. A. Obioha, (Mrs) is an associate at Lawracles LP. Her state-wide practice is focused on company secretariat, corporate governance and litigation.
She attended Madonna University and then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. She is presently a student at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Nigeria. She is a member of Lawracles’ company secretariat and corporate governance unit.
