KAYODE ADENIJI
Kayode Adeniji is the Senior Partner at Lawrales LP. His legal arguments in the landmark case of Megawatts Nigeria Limited Vs Incorporated Trustees of Gbagada Phase II Residents’ Association, produced the ground-breaking Judgement of the Federal High Court on the right to freedom of association.
This landmark Judgement has forever redefined the social contract between estates’ residents on one hand, and Real Estate developers/managers on the other, in the real estate development sector. This case has become a locus classicus for legal practitioners and the academic community.
The aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic made Kayode one of the most sought after commercial lawyers in Nigeria by fintech companies and other corporate clients desperate for practical solutions with realistic legal fees. He has remarkable experience in advising on complex commercial transactions, as well as dispute resolution and advising foreign investors on potential investment in Nigeria.
He is continuously engaged as lead counsel in ongoing major and high profile commercial and public policy disputes across the courts of Nigeria and has been a representative of a party in an international commercial arbitration in the telecommunication industry.
As a prolific writer and speaker, he has delivered several knowledge sharing sessions, to enhance the operations of corporate international organizations, in various aspects of their business such as ; Data privacy and protection, Government & regulatory angencies relations, Legacy and succession planning etc.
Before joining Lawracles LP, Kayode was Head of Dispute Resolution Management at the Honeywell Group.
MAJOR RECENT CASES/TRANSACTIONS
◉ Kayode was the first lawyer in Nigeria to undertake a critical review of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) of 2020; which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on 17th August, 2020. His published legal review sparked a national discuss on the jurisprudence behind the practicality of an omnibus law to regulate businesses and NGOs, (especially religious organizations) in a volatile, multi religious and multicultural state.
In 2017, Kayode represented a private client to obtain judgment against the Securities and Exchange Commission for its unfair administrative actions, before the Investments & Securities Tribunal.
Kayode’s legal strategic advice helped the management of Radisson blu on Victoria Island, Lagos, in dealing with unionization of its staff, which eventually led to the smooth and successful running of business at the Hotel till date.
Kayode has advised and represented parties on various Airtel Shareholders’ disputes in Nigeria.
◉ Kayode has successfully advised and represented a group of companies in enforcing its intellectual property rights against an American Company and subsequently supervised the drafting and reviews of Settlement Agreement between the parties.
◉ He has advised and represented a party in an ongoing dispute surrounding the Federal Government’s concession of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
◉ He has successfully represented an indigenous drilling company in N27 Billion transaction at the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
◉ He currently advises and represents a leading consumer Fintech organisation in Nigeria in the management of its loan disbursements.
◉ He has advised and successfully recovered multi-million naira debts for Ecobank, NDIC, UBA, AMCON and other financial institutions in Nigeria.

He is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the firm as he engages in job design and analysis, recruitment/hiring and selection, training and development. David also ensures adherence to the firm’s core values to create a safe work environment.
David presently advises a leading Fintech company in Nigeria on 320,000,000million naira financial portfolio, while recording an impressive success rate. He has also contributed immensely to the firm’s work in the areas of due diligence and corporate fraud investigation.

Ayoola Yusuf
Ayoola Yusuf obtained his LLB Honours from Crescent University , in Nigeria. He is a Junior Associate at Lawracles.
Since joining Lawracles, he has had the opportunity to join our commercial advisory team on a cross border Joint venture for the the cultivation and export of agricultural products to European markets between a Nigerian company and its Spanish partners.
